What does Calvary Jesup believe?
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. It is our sole authority for our lives. The Bible serves as the foundation for our beliefs and behaviors. It is from the Bible we know who God is, what His character is, what His passion is, and why mankind is placed on Earth.
We use the Bible to answer mankind’s four greatest questions.
Where do we come from?
Why is the world the way it is?
How should we live?
Where are we going after death?
The Bibles declares man was created by God the Father and God the Son. Our world is filled with sorrow and death due to the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. We are to believe on the sacrifice of Jesus to cover our sin and bring us into fellowship with God the Father. Faith on Jesus leads the believer to repent of his/her sin and follow Jesus’ teaching. After death comes the judgment. Jesus was judged for the sins of followers on the cross of Calvary. Those who are saved by the blood of Jesus are with Jesus immediately with Him in Heaven. Those who reject the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus are separated from God in Hades and await judgment.
After the Lord Jesus ascended into Heaven after His resurrection, He sat beside God the Father’s side in Heaven. He sent His Holy Spirit to indwell all believers in His physical absence on Earth. All believers on the Lord Jesus make up His Church, the Bride of Christ. God is working through the Church in this present age. Jesus makes Himself known today to all of mankind through His Spirit, the Scriptures, and His saints who make up the Church.
The Lord Jesus tells His followers that He will return for His Church in the future. We do not know the exact time. While we wait for His return we worship, work, witness, and watch the skies. We believe His return is imminent. Perhaps today!
As a church in good standing with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board and the Southern Baptist Convention, we affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. You can find a link to this document here.

What is the mission and goal of Calvary Jesup?
Our goal in every ministry, service, song, lesson, activity, program, and policy is to worship God the Father, Son, and Spirit in spirit and truth. The only compass we have and use to please Him is the Bible. May we be forever faithful to the Word!
